My Journey :

I've spent most of my life living abroad, outside of France. During 9 years, I have lived in London (2009-2018), where I became completely bilingual. It also exposed me to a vibrant and diverse community filled with people from around the world. My previous experiences abroad (Philippines - 2 years ; Denmark - 1 year ) and my prolonged stay in the UK made me more aware and interested in the world around me, and more curious.

Studies

I obtained my French Baccalaureat in the Literature section at the Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulles - London with a mention Bien.

I then started my studies back in France where I am currently finishing my 3rd year in Game art studies at Supinfo Game Rubika.

I'm fascinated by all the different types of art and the different ways they communicate with the public. How they share thoughts and emotions through different mediums.

My world has been for some time inspired by various artist, writers and musicians. I try to seek inspiration and knowledge everywhere, and not just simply stopping at paintings.

Painters and Graphic novels

Cinema

My favourite painters are, to name of few,  Gustav Klimt - Egon Schiele - Jackson Pollock - Caspar David Friedrich - Monnet - Bonnard - Van Gogh - Da Vinci - Vermeer - Hockney...

Each, to there own right, challenged my views and approaches. I learned about colour balance, the importance of lights and shadows and their various forms and colours. Composition and figure drawing. All of this and much more...

The world of comics and graphic novel have also been a big part of my life and I can't help but feel fascinated by some artist. The French Magazine Metal Hurlants, with Phillipe Druillet and his character Lone Sloane are undoubtedly a very important inspiration. Moebius's stories and worlds have also renewed my way to approach certain ways to draw.  Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese continues to reshape my way of writing stories and inking. Greg Capullo's and Tim Sale's drawings of batman and visual story telling and graphical approach to the character have also mesmerized me.

Digging through the making of's of my favourite movies I also discovered various artist such as H.R. Giger who's paintings I cannot help but relate to, in the ways that art exercises demons from one's soul and that the demons he painted are similar to my own. ( I am not trying to compare myself to Giger ). Chris Foss's paintings of space and alien landscapes ; Syd mead's design on Blade runner and his world building concept's ; John Howe's illustrations of the lord of the rings and middle earth...

Cinema has always been a  subject of fascination and interest. I find that movies makes you dream, and for a short moment for one to three hours, makes you live a dream. A good story with good visuals has the ability to make you forget and just live in the moment and share with others a moment apart in time. Movies have inspired me to do more. The following movies are a few of my favourites :

Alien - Blade runner - Soylent Green - 2001: A space Odyssey - Shinning - Once upon a time in the west - The Duellist -  The Chariots of fire - Kagemusha - Les enfants du Paradis (1945) - The Lord of the Rings - Interstellar - The big Lebowski - A bout de souffle - The Thing (1982) - Lost in Translation - Snatch - The God Father...

Music

As I said before music is a also a very important aspect of my way of working. I tirelessly try to explore different types of music. each new experience gives me a new energy with  which I can create new projects and drawings.

My father introduced me to Classical music early on. I have been listening to Mozart, Handel, Chostakovitch, Beethoven and Vivaldi ever since. But it was only at the age of 14 where I truly started to listen to it and let myself be taken away by the music.

Rock and Roll has a very important place in my heart : the Rolling stones, The Doors, Oasis, The Artic Monkeys,  T-rex, Nirvana, Creedence Clear Water Revival, The Red Hot chili Pepers, etc... They drive my daily life and continue to inspire me.

The list could go on for ever...

Jazz, blues, Soul, R&B, hard Rock, Metal, Alternative Rock, Rap, Hip-Hop, Beb-Bop...

My creative power thrives on the diversity of my culture.

Literature and Theater

Like many before me I find inspiration in books and what has come before me. I always end up with books where ever I go because I find that they bring the excitement and mystery that is not necessarily found in every day life. It gives us the drive to seek out more out of life and re-invigorate the basic human nature to look for new. To go beyond.

I loved reading classic tales, like those written by Jules Verne. But I am fascinated since childhood by the Greek mythology and the very human nature of each of the characters, human or god alike. Although they are confronted to surreal events, the actions they take and the reactions they have are very human and the audience can relate to that. Homer's tales where a foundation of my childhood, but I then discovered Racine's plays. They continue to this day to be a big influence.

Other writers and poets like Albert Camus, Dan Simmons, Tolkien, Jane Austen, Frank Herbert, John Keats, H.P. Lovecraft, etc... continue to be what I thrive to become as a story teller but are also the foundation of my imagination along with every other aspect of my culture.

Theater holds a very important place for me. I try to get involved as much as I can in theater. As an actor but also as a director. Every aspect of this art appeals to me. I played in multiple student plays as a leading character and I found that all my experience in various medium of art where all accumulated in the same place and it abled me to really live a experience, a dream, at the same time as the audience. And I found that to be magical.
